Lahore Smart City is Pakistan's second smart city project, following Capital Smart City. Much of the interest it has attracted stems from the developers behind it and from plot prices positioned for a wide range of buyers.
This article explains who owns and develops Lahore Smart City, how to book a plot, and the checks every buyer should make first.
Who develops Lahore Smart City?
The project is developed by Future Development Holdings Ltd (FDHL) and Habib Rafiq Ltd (HRL). The management has appointed Surbana Jurong (SJ) as master planner. Together, the three aim to make Lahore Smart City a model housing project.
Who are FDHL and HRL?
FDHL and HRL are established developers with experience across several projects in Pakistan, including both Capital Smart City and Lahore Smart City. Their stated aim is to build communities to international standards while keeping homes within reach of ordinary budgets.
At the time of writing, the developers were concentrating on accelerating development work in Lahore Smart City. For the latest progress at the sister project, see Latest Developments at Capital Smart City Islamabad.
How to book a plot
Visit the head office, download the booking form from the official website, or contact EFS Marketing. Prepare the following:
- Passport-size photographs of the applicant
- Copies of the applicant's CNIC
- Copies of the next of kin's CNIC
- NICOP for overseas clients
- Payment proof
What to check before booking any plot
Visit the location
Inspect the site in person. Some sellers show buyers one plot and hand over the file for another, so a physical visit protects you. Check the surroundings and whether essential facilities are nearby.
Confirm the NOC status
Check the society's legal status on the website of the relevant authority — LDA, RDA, CDA, PHATA, the District Council or another body, depending on location. For Lahore Smart City, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is the authority to check. Our guide to how to book a plot in Islamabad covers the process in more detail.
Assess your finances
Make sure you have the down payment and a reliable income to cover future installments. If you would need to borrow from friends, family or a bank to keep up with payments, reconsider before booking.
